1 Respect and Behaviour
- All students and visitors must treat instructors, employees and other participants respectfully.
- No harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, intimidation, unlawful discrimination, violence, threats, deliberate humiliation, inappropriate physical contact or property damage.
- No comment on another person's body, weight, shape or eating. This applies to participants as much as to instructors.
- Serious misconduct may result in removal, suspension or termination of access, subject to applicable law and contractual rights, with the published refund position applying.
2 Class Safety
- Follow reasonable instructor and safety directions.
- Participate within your physical capabilities and disclose relevant limitations where appropriate.
- Wear suitable clothing and footwear and use equipment only as instructed.
- Stop immediately on severe pain, dizziness, faintness, chest pain or other alarming symptoms, and tell the instructor.
- An instructor may ask a participant to stop where continued participation reasonably appears unsafe. That decision is a safety decision and is not open to negotiation during the class.
3 Attendance
Students should arrive on time. Late entry may be refused where missing the warm-up or the safety briefing would create an unreasonable safety risk. Attendance is recorded for every class.
4 Physical Corrections
Some instruction may involve physical correction. Instructors will explain the correction and seek consent where reasonably practicable. You may decline physical correction at any time and request verbal or visual instruction instead, and your refusal will be respected without comment. You may record a standing preference of no physical correction at enrolment; it will be visible to every instructor.
5 Photography and Recording
- Respect the privacy of others. Do not photograph or record another participant without their agreement, and never another person's child.
- Recording in toilets, changing areas or other private areas is prohibited absolutely.
- Commercial filming and organised shoots require prior written approval.
- You may photograph yourself and your own child. Your own consent preferences for VOLVE's use of your image are recorded in your account.
6 Studio Property
Mirrors, flooring, sound, lighting, furniture and other property must be treated carefully. Restricted technical equipment may only be operated with permission. Please report damage rather than leaving it; reporting is never penalised.
7 Personal Belongings
Students should take reasonable care of their belongings, use the storage provided and avoid leaving valuables unattended. The studio is not a bailee of your property.
8 Payments and Cancellations
Bookings are governed by the membership, fees, refund and cancellation terms communicated at purchase and set out in the Pricing, Payments, Cancellation and Refund Policy. All payments are made to the Company through official channels; no instructor or staff member may accept a payment personally. Nothing in VOLVE's policies removes statutory consumer rights.
9 Participants Under 18
- A parent or guardian must complete the Participant Injury and Risk Acknowledgement and the media consent before the first class.
- Please follow the pickup and drop-off procedure. A child will be released only to a parent or to a person named in writing.
- Instructors will not communicate privately with a child. All communication is through the parent or an official VOLVE channel.
- If you have a concern about the safety or treatment of any child at the studio, raise it with the Designated Safeguarding Lead named on the notice board, on the same day.
10 Zero-Tolerance Conduct
VOLVE may take immediate protective action, including removal from the premises and contacting the police, in cases involving violence, credible threats, sexual harassment, theft, serious safety violations, conduct endangering a child, or unlawful conduct.
11 Raising a Concern
Any concern or complaint may be raised with the Grievance Officer named on the notice board and on the website, and will be acknowledged within forty-eight hours and resolved within fifteen working days. A complaint of sexual harassment may be made to the Internal Committee. Nothing prevents you from approaching the police or a consumer commission.
