Sangeet Season Survival Guide: 8 Weeks to a Showstopper
6 min read · Volve Wedding Team · 12 September 2026
Mumbai's wedding calendar waits for no one — but a showstopper sangeet is a schedule, not a miracle.
Weeks 8–7: Cast & Songs
Lock your performers and your playlist first. Match songs to people honestly — give the aunties the hook steps they'll love and save the complex choreography for the cousins who'll rehearse.
Weeks 6–4: Learn in Blocks
Rehearse in song-blocks of 30–45 minutes, twice a week. Short and regular beats long and rare — memory is built by sleep cycles, not marathon sessions.
Weeks 3–2: Run the Show
Stitch performances into show order with entries and exits. This is when it stops being steps and starts being a show.
Week 1: Venue & Costume Runs
One full dress run at the venue (or a marked-out replica) settles nerves like nothing else. Then rest — the glow on the night comes from sleep, not one more rehearsal.
